Through the labor of blue ballpoint pen on paper, the work builds a rational order by methodically layering strokes. Within the intentional and unintentional variations of depth and arrangement, a new rhythm emerges between drawing and space.
The process involves repeatedly softening the ink with water using a wide brush. Original pen marks dissolve on the white surface, allowing emotional nuance to surface from within rational structure. Over time, the rational and the emotional begin to merge, blurring the boundaries between them. The space between logic and feeling gives rise to an illusion of light.
The resulting image recalls Jun’ichirō Tanizaki’s In Praise of Shadows, where silver moonlight rests on a washi paper sliding door—softly illuminated, never glaring. It is quiet, fleeting, yet leaves a lingering, resonant impression.
透過藍色原子筆在紙上勞動,規律地重複堆疊,製造一理性的秩序;在刻意與非刻意的深淺與排列差異中,讓繪畫在場域產生新的節奏。
創作過程反覆使用沾水的排筆暈染,原先的筆跡碰到水後在白紙上化開,在暈開的藍色墨水中尋找理性背後的感性情感。直至最後兩者彼此融合,模稜前後關係,理性與感性的距離產生空間,而這個範圍呈現的是一種光的幻覺。畫面就如谷崎潤一郎《陰翳禮讚》中那銀白月光,停留在和紙拉門上,凝視雖然明亮卻毫無刺眼之感,靜謐、稍縱即逝卻在心裡震懾悠長。
