Hsieh Jung-Wei was born in Taichung, Taiwan in 1991. He received a BA in Fine Arts from Tunghai University in 2014 and obstained a MA in Architecture Program from Shih Chien University. Hsieh uses the ballpoint pen as a medium to create a rational sense of order through regular and densely layered strokes on paper. Between his paradoxical arrangement of shades, deliberate one moment and completely unintentional the next, a visual rhythm is generated within which his paintings attain a greater resonance that is fluid and shifting.
Hsieh’s interest in the fluidity of movement permeates his paintings as well as the spatial relation with exhibiting spaces. He often developed specific painting installations that adapted to the properties of the field. He excels in the control of light sources, capturing moments of darkness in brightness, as well as moments of light in darkness. From his practice to exhibition planning, he consciously manipulates the harmony between painting and space, drawing a thin line that connects the nerves between both for the viewer.
He was awarded a Next Art Tainan Award in 2022, and shotlisted for Kaohsiung Award in 2021. His recent solo exhibitions include The Blue Island and North Sea, YIRI ARTS, Taipei (2022), Yáo // Experimental Exhibition, Yáo Space, Taichung (2022), East of Moonlight, Freedom Men Art Apartments, Taichung (2021), and Wave Function Collapse, Art Ile, Taichung (2021). Group shows include Next Art Tainan Award, Da Xin Art Museum, Tainan (2022), Kaohsiung Award, Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts, Kaohsiung (2021), Time Record, Nan Gallery, Taipei (2020), and Yes Taiwan VIII, Aki Gallery, Taipei (2020).
謝榕蔚 （b. 1991）出生於台灣台中，畢業於實踐大學建築學系碩士班、東海大學美術學系。謝榕蔚的創作靈感源自東亞美學中陰翳隱晦的光線以及對於身體勞動的信念。他將自己所屬文化的傳統美學，以當代的思維用繪畫、空間裝置等形式呈現。他以現代生活的環境光源為基礎，製作不需插電就會發光的光線作品；運用日常書寫的原子筆作為工具，做一位紙上的農夫，在紙上勞動耕作用水暈染書畫。謝榕蔚的作品並非強調媒材在藝術脈絡的傳承，而是站在當代，將沿變至此刻的文化精神呈現出來。
曾獲文化部遴選為 Art Taipei「2023 Made In Taiwan-新人推薦特區」藝術家，2023年獲天美藝術基金會之台灣當代藝術家海外參訪計畫贊助。過去作品曾獲高雄美術獎優選（2024），台南新藝獎（2022）。近期個展包含：「東島與北海」，伊日藝術計劃，台北（2022）；窯座 // 實驗展 ，窯座，台中（2022）；「月光之東，自由人藝術公寓」，台中（2021）。聯展包含：「2022台南新藝獎」，大新美術館，台南（2022）；「2021 高雄獎」，高雄市立美術館，高雄 （2021）；「時記」，南畫廊，台北（2021），與「YES TAIWAN VIII」，也趣藝廊，台北（2020）。
