This project stems from memories of traveling in Iceland. Its impact was delayed—only after returning did everything come into sharp focus. While there, the vastness felt natural; only in hindsight did I realize how easily comfort fades into the background, often noticed only when it's gone.

Cosmescents features sketches made on the road and altered everyday objects from both Taiwan and Iceland. Ropes dyed with Icelandic yarn recall summer landscapes; fly-swatters and silk mimic the cold wind sweeping across icy coasts. Like postcards sent to myself, these works arrive slightly late, carrying traces of a place already slipping into memory.

這是一段關於去冰島旅遊的記憶。冰島的後座力很強，在當地還不覺得，回來才發現一切都變得很清晰。當你身處其中，所有的浩瀚都覺得理所當然，離開後，才發現原來所謂的舒服是太容易習慣且不容易感受，通常只在失去的時候才會開始懷念與珍惜。我想冰島的後座力就是這麼一回事。

 

在cosmescents呈現的作品有在冰島趕路之餘所畫的速寫，也有改造台、冰兩地日常生活的物件，再造出記憶中冰島的人文風景。像是用冰島超市所販售的毛線編織出夏天的地景色彩的繩索；用市場的驅蠅器加上絲幔，模擬出穿過冰山海岸狂拂而來的冷風。雖然不及真實，但感覺像是一個月後收到了自己寄回來的明信片。
